Bear Watching allows you to enjoy Finland’s beautiful nature. With long days of almost 24 hours of sunlight you can make the most of your holiday – experience the opportunity to see wildlife like bears, canoe or swim in pure, clean water and take part in an exciting Husky Safari. This is a once in a lifetime trip and perfect if you want to see bears in their natural environment.

Flight from your airport via Helsinki to Kajaani, transfer to your accommodation. Check-in and time to explore the resort. Hotel Vuokatti can assure you a relaxing sauna experience with one of it’s three saunas. At least one of the Saunas is heated every day so that guests can have a relaxing sauna and possibly a swim at the beautiful clear clean lake.
Today your experience in Finnish wilderness really starts. You will enjoy a relaxing Hiking Tour via the scenic route across the hills. The local guide will tell you stories about Vuokatti region, while you get to enjoy the Finnish nature at its best – beautiful lake views, hill scenery and fresh forest. Drinks and delicious snacks are included on this trip.
Duration of excursion: 2 hrs. The rest of the day is at your leisure – you can explore the resort, go swimming or fishing – the choice is yours
You can sleep in a bit as you won’t leave for the bear watching before afternoon. We can promise a truly unforgettable experience and the best opportunity to take the photographic shot of a lifetime from the comfort and safety of our specially designed hides. At 2pm transfer from Vuokatti, pick up from your accommodation. You’ll be escorted to a wooden hide where you can safely wait for the appearance of the bears. There is one seat for everyone with a camera hole and the hide has a dry toilet. Packed picnic is provided for the evening. After a magical evening accompanied by bears, at 9.30pm you will be escorted back to our bus and transfer back to Vuokatti.

After watching the magnificent bears yesterday evening, the next day will be spent socializing with huskies. You will be transferred to the Husky Center where you will experience Dog Sledding in the summer with our “Husky Mercedes”! Ten huskies pull this specially adapted cart on wheels around the circuit. The programme includes harnessing the dogs with a guide as well as a Husky Ride about 1,5 km long (depending on temperature). After the ride you will have a tour in the Husky Arena and learn about the huskies daily lives.
Duration of excursion approx 2 hrs with transfers.
The last day in the nature wonderland. Maybe you’ll just enjoy the nature, have another Husky Safari or go hiking– the choice is yours and there will definitely be something for everyone.
Transfer to the airport and flight back home.
